Trusses...Ready or Not!

The crane just arrived.   (Noon)

Setting the plywood on the second level saved a lot of lifting.

The gable truss was built on the ground.

The plywood and barge rafters are installed on the ground.

Six at a time

Up, Up, and away!

Tyler Wilson and Associates  installed our trusses on the second story...The students watched from accross the street.  Total crane time...90 minutes.  You can not beat a man in his own trade!

Framing at Last

Framing lumber is here...so the sill plate goes on first with the sill sealer underneath it.

Walls are built laying down and then raised into place.

The floor joists are lookng good.

Only a few more and we are finished with the first floor.

Experience is the Education

After a saftey lesson, the students back filled the foundation.  FYI:  The foundation came through unscathed,  without a blemish.   Yup,  no scars.    I knew they could do it!

Footings to Rough Plumbing

The forms that come in, must go out when we are finished.

The rebar is tied every two feet horiszontally and vertically.

This stand pipe is for a Radon Reduction System.  It is not expensive to install at this point.

We are framing the block outs for the crawl space.

Our UFER ground and a plumbing trench.  We are on schedule.
