Day 4 Squaring a Building Fractions/Decimals

Squaring a building
1.       We will learn how to square a building two different ways.
2.       We will double check our footings to make sure they are square.
3.       We will discuss why it is important to have the footings square.
4.       We will use a hundred foot tape measure to double check our work.
5.       We will learn how to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.

2.       What is the hypotenuse of our  garage if it is 30 ft by 20 ft?
3.       How would you recognize an engineer’s hundred foot tape measure?
4.        What is the decimal equivalent of  eight inches?
5.       What is the decimal equivalent of  nine inches?
6.       What is the decimal equivalent of one quarter inch?
7.       What is the fraction equivalent of   .5 ft?
8.       What is the nearest fraction to    .78 ft?
9.       What is the nearest fraction equivalent to (within one sixteenth)   .33 inch?
10.    What is the nearest fraction equivalent to (within one sixteenth)   .45 inch?
